Let’s see…they surveyed 1400 scientists and less then 30% responded and over half (actual nubmer not disclosed) responded that they “knew of” incidents where there was pressure to alter findings…so roughly 15% of 1400 scientists (say 210) knew of instances where there was pressure to alter results…but were they discrete instances…how many instances…over what time period…where did the pressure come from…how were the findings altered.
Just a few of the follow ups that the article should have addressed that are conspicuously absent. Then again…this is the LA Times we are talking about and its about what I would expect out of them.
Oh man, that is SOO wrong…
You know, that does make this articly seem to smack of inaccuracy from that perspective.
I’d like to see some followups to support that too before I start passing this particular article on.
