update

August 23rd, 2004

the site’s got software installed, now.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

Writers, writers, game designers, ideas people, programmers, and graphics artists - in that order of preference.

I’m just an ideas guy, with a bit of writing experience..

I’d like this to not be a “committee-run” business, but if that’s what all the people who participate want, that’s what we’ll do.

Hosting for the site is provided by Arikel.net, my company. All I ask out of that, is that I get a job if/when the company starts producing materials that make money.

The basic gist of the thing is, I think people as a group can manage a business better than one person - I also believe if you’re going to make a successful game, you need more than one person designing it.

So, I’d like to basically create a world (or a few), write game systems for it (them), and see if we can get everyone involved in on the ground floor of a new business.

I expect there to be a few spin-off businesses from this one, each with its own business model. A video game business will work differently than a roleplaying game business.

I’m rather confused by this post and the last mygamefactory post.

I don’t know much about coding or programming… but like most people, I’ve got tons of ideas and I do a fair amount of short story writing.

What exactly is this for and about? What ideas are you looking for? I’ve always thought it’d be interesting to see some of my ideas come to life.

that’s the point - to help people’s ideas come to life.

I’d recommend starting with the Wiki, for now, maybe making a section for your corner of the world - maybe even make a page for you. (Instructions are included on the ewiki)

K. That’s a lot to absorb… When I get a chance, will try to look at it tonight.
