What this war’s costing us

In addition, check out the other options the money could be used for.. especially the children’s healthcare, and education improvements.

I know that this war was probably unavoidable - but I firmly believe the comparison with Viet Nam is correct in the vein of “poorly handled”.

I would probably be all for it, if we hadn’t been lied to. daily. by Bush AND Cheney.

Some people have commented in the past on my rants about Bush about how hard the job is, and how good the economy is.

Fuck that, he lied to us - about his job. Clinton lied, too, but NOT about his job. And he suffered (and will continue to suffer) for it.

When Bush and Cheney lie to the American people, we suffer, Iraqis suffer, people around the world suffer.

I don’t see how any intelligent Republican can truly back this poor excuse for a man. For my friends that are republicans, that’s not an insult, it’s an offer to explain to me why, if you support him.

Personally I don’t see how anyone can support either Bush or Kerry. But I’m just a disaffected Libertarian.

Alas. I think my biggest problem with how the Libertarian Party markets itself is the legalization of Cannabis.

Quite frankly, that’s all anyone thinks about when they hear about the Libertarians. Don’t get me wrong, I’m for the end of the “War on Drugs”, as much as the next Libertarian, but… I think having it as a big focus has put a lot of people off from the party.

Someone needs to get into the party that has good PR skills and give it a face lift.

I actually like a good deal of the Democratic party’s platform, or feel it’s better than the equivilent Republican stance. Libertarian platforms tend to be completely unrealistic.

that’s why I’m not standing by them right now.

despite what I WANT to believe, appearances DO matter. I’m not part of the “let’s smoke pot” party. I want to be a part of the “Don’t let the government define my liberties through disgusting amounts of laws” party. I want to be part of the “don’t take away my liberties at the expense of others” party.

Hey now, I never claimed to be living in reality. After all I do write fantasy . Seriously, I don’t support the isolationist or the pot part of the Libertarian platform nor am I a card carrying member of any party. I don’t like the Demos because I know they want to give my money to other people because even though we live pay check to pay check we make too much money. I don’t trust the Reps because of the Patriot Act (prior to that I mostly voted Republican or Libertarian depending with an occasional Democrat that I liked). I want the government out of my life. I don’t want to be taxed into poverty. Honestly, I’ve seen too much lying from politcos of both parties to want anyone from either party in office, but I know that isn’t going to happen. I’m just pretty much disgusted with elections and the people running for them in our country.
