‘Ignore those who ignore our warning, and seek only the pleasures of this world; they know only those pleasure.’ Your Lord knows well who has strayed from his path, and who is walking in the right direction.
-Qur’an, An-Najm, Surah 53:29-30

What about those who believe pleasure is the way of the Lord? Happy medium, I tell you!
Happy medium? Bah! Everything to excess. Moderation is for monks. (So sayeth the Heinlein. *grin*)
See, read it carefully, and it doesn’t say to NOT seek the pleasures of the world - it just mentions those that *only* seek the pleasures of the world.
God, Buddha, and many other religious figures said “all you need is love” and most agree that that will mean the “10 rules” will fall into their proper places in your life.
you can have love without pleasure, but what would be the point in having the necessary parts to have the pleasure if you weren’t meant to, occasionally? as they say, God made us for a reason - and that’s one of the many aspects of that reason.
are you somehow relating love to sex? because while the two are possibly integrally related, they are indeed not at all the same thing.
no, i’m not, actually.
if anything, sex is just a side-effect of love, but not always.
i think that’s also part of the point - to seek only pleasure is missing out on the love that can come with it.
