Bush - Busted.

What I want to know, is how the fuck this idiot thinks he can get away with lying to the entire fucking nation?

Let me guess - Republicans are going to now say “You can’t believe Tenet! He’s lying!!”

Right. Screw that. Too many people from his OWN ADMINISTRATION have said that the information was incorrect, and he knew it. One even said that it wasn’t his fault, though - it was the fault of the intelligence community. Well, the intelligence community of the United States has spoken.

Bush is full of shit - so much so that I can no longer believe a single word that comes out of that idiot’s mouth.

huh? I read that and even though I couldn’t finish it (have to get ready for school) got a totally different thing from you. Particularly:

“What do we know today? Since the war we have found an aggressive Iraqi missile program concealed from the international community”

And also there was another part that said they never said “emminent” threat but that was never really an issue with me because what they said was basically that Iraq wanted to bomb the USA and was aggressively seeking missiles and nukes to do so. Saddam was even known to have made a rant about how come with their current tech, that they didn’t have nukes already to bomb the US.

*shrugs* The fact is though, it was never declared as emminent and everyone knew that part of Bush’s reaction to this news was very very slanted due to the fact that:

1) What happened to his father
2) recent terrorist activities
3) That he didn’t want to wait till Saddam could be proven to had nukes and the threat was actually emminent.

I don’t know if he was right or wrong. To me, he just made a decision. I don’t know that I would have made the decisions he did but people accuse me of being too pacifistic and that we would have been nuked before I make a decision to go to war.

Just glad, I didn’t have to be the one to make a decision when told– oh Iraq’s not close to making nukes and a huge missile program to attack the US– but they’re trying really really hard.

For posting that. I really do hate reading that sort of stuff, but for once that didn’t seem to be a patronizing or dumbed down bit of a read for the average American. Somehow that makes me feel good.

I can respect the fact he made a decision. I can’t respect the fact that he mislead the American people about it.

Nothing new..Anytime there was dissent in the ranks during the build-up to war, that person was squashed..It was common knowledge in the underground circles(because the whore press has covered Bush’s arse since day one, they hardly covered any of it pre-war) that the White House pressured the CIA. Pre-war, there are hundreds of quotes from administration officials saying the CIA “underestimates” the threat from Iraq..Now we’re supposed to believe it’s all the CIA’s fault? yeah, right.

What I’m confused on is… what do you mean by mislead? I am tired cause I’ve just come back from two 3 hour classes, camping, clubbing, and helping a friend clean an apartment. I might be missing something.

For me, I thought his stance was always that we should squash terrorism and that Iraq was a danger to the US?

His stance was that, yes.

But he, and his staff for him, constantly claimed that there were WMD, etc. When asked where they got this info? “the intelligence community”

When it came out that there were no WMD’s to be found, and that they *knew* the “intelligence” was bad *BEFORE* the war they started with it as an excuse - they blamed who? the intelligence community. they remained quiet, until now.

Tenet basically said that they told the White House there was not enough evidence to believe they had the WMD’s and were an *immediate* threat to the security of Americans.

The reason why I’m pissed is because he lied to us, bold faced. If he had just said that there was reason to believe there were Al-Qaeda training in Iraq (which they did) and just shown the aerial footage of a 737 fuselage being used on a training camp (which they did) that would have been fine. No, he had to *lie* to convince others that war was necessary. That, to me, makes me question all the OTHER “evidence” that he put forward.

And yes, I was pissed when Clinton lied to us, too.

Gosh bleeeep this article is long. And yeah. I see. I didn’t realize Bush was saying that they HAD WMD. I thought he had said they knew they were trying and could have them. I didn’t pay much attention to what was said to lead up to war– just knew it was a war against terrorism.

Summary of article from what I’ve managed to read (3/4ths of it):

Missiles and longer ranged extensions are confirmed. They have been making many and they are long enough range to have hit just about every Arab country from Iraq. Reports for this were confirmed.

Mobiles designed to carry chemical weapons are also confirmed.
Chemical weapons– only very little has been discovered and are pesticide-based. Not enough to constitute a weapons program although nearby Arab countries probably would not have been amused if they were used. Reports were indicating there were several metric tons. This amount could fit into just a few dorm rooms (so I’m guessing roughly the size of a one bedroom apartment) but they have yet to find this.

Nuclear weapons. No on fissible materials and no on having enough aluminum tubing of enough quality to be appreciable. However, due to nuclear prolificators, tech level available, etc… that if Iraq had succeeded in acquiring both, they would have had nuclear weapons rather quickly. Depending on estimates used– 1 to 5 years.

I’m pretty sure I’m missing some things though.
