for the geeks…
April 25th, 2003You know what’s funny? I’ve been playing around with Windows CE .NET 4.2 - on an emulator on my workstation. It comes with a compiler to build the OS - kernel and all - onto the platform you define - down to the hardware.. You can write your own “boot” drivers to supply the data that winCE needs to boot on your platform.. So if you can code in assembly, if you have to, on your hardware, then you’ve got it made.
Linux - for the hardware geeks. Go forth, ye geeks - and start designing your own hardware around processors (other than intel’s - or including theirs, if you’re obsessed with the Itanium), and you can build the perfect platform - no matter how big the box.
Nice, Bill, nice.
