Whenever the Camarilla loses a member to death, it hurts all of us. When we know them, it hurts more.. The closer you are to the individual, the more it hurts.

That’s what family is supposed to be about. Being there for each other when there’s a loss, and mourning together when it’s a member of that family.

I didn’t know Kenneth all that well, but I’d been acquainted with him both online, and at a few events. Last time I saw him, I brushed him off, because I was busy, saying we’d talk later.. I didn’t see him again, and now it’s not possible.

I want to go to the service, but I know that’s also not possible. My heart is with his family, and the Tulsa chapter.

I want something else for him, too, besides the money that’s going to be collected to pay for his funeral and the like - perhaps a bit left over to pay for the web hosting to put up a permanent memorial site.

Or even - a permanent memorial site for all past losses, and any future (help us that we don’t, higher power) ones we may have.

We’ll miss you, Kenneth - our memories, and yours, will live on forever.

the only thing that’s changed since yesterday about my email address is the fact that I made it my default address for LJ, and posted it, self-mangled, on a few comments…

And all of a sudden, I get spam.. or some sort of “someone has a crush on you” spam, or something..

Don’t do that. If you sent it, let me know, because you just gave my un-spammed email address to a *known* email-address-selling company.

This doesn’t make me happy. Sigh.

posting, and the like..

I know it’s been some time since I’ve posted, and I suddenly started posting again.

Truthfully, my life became more important than the announcements of what was going on within.

I’ve finally (yes, it’s been a while) landed a full-time job, and I’m NOT in the IT industry, and I’m only using a computer to help pass along the paper work. Yay!

Soon, I’ll be working on the books again.. I hope.

Interesting lines of thinking..

This looks a little odd to me.. don’t you think? This is quoted *directly* from a pentagon press release from:
http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Feb2002/c02262002_ct088-02.html

This was posted *THIS MONTH*. You can scroll down at the above page, looking the paragraph that starts with “Brown & Root”:

“Brown & Root Services, a division of Kellogg Brown & Root, Arlington, Va., was awarded today a $16,000,000 task order under a previously awarded cost reimbursement, indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity construction contract for construction of a 408-unit detention camp at the Radio Range area of U.S. Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Units will be of modular steel construction. Each unit measures 6 feet 8 inches by 8 feet and includes a bed, a toilet, and a hand basin with running water. Work will be performed in Guantanamo Bay and is to be completed by April 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The basic contract was competitively procured with 44 proposals solicited, three offers were received, and award was made on June 29, 2000. The total contract amount is not to exceed $300,000,000, which includes the base period and four option years. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Atlantic Division, Norfolk, Va., is the contracting activity (N62470-00-D-0005). ”

Look at the bold date above. That is over a YEAR before Sept. 11th. Why would we be building the prison to hold the al-Qaeda terrorists a year before they attacked us?

Hmm?
